ITMA tutors can mentor for simple, advanced and complex cases at either the mentees practice or the mentors practice.
The tutors have a range of experiences and skills and are happy to plan, assist, discuss and treat cases with mentees and provide a safe and reassuring clinical pathway for mentees to develop their skills and knowledge.
ITMA tutors value mentoring greatly and are of the opinion that mentoring is the cornerstone of dental implantology and is an absolute must for anyone wishing to progress within the discipline.
Mentoring usually takes place through exchange of relevant case material e.g. pictures, study models and X-rays, followed by interactive case discussion and planning prior to surgical placement of implants.
Mentoring will also involve honest and constructive feedback with debriefing and advice on future improvements and development.
ITMA Mentoring is designed to aid progress and build confidence, and the ultimate aim is to build the clinician in an honest and practical manner.
